A native of Wisconsin, Miss Halon has been a resident of Atlanta Georgia since 2008. She completed her Undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater and earned a B.A in Vocal Performance. After being lured to the sweet south to complete her Master’s Degree at Georgia State she ended up staying after she met her husband in the summer of 2010. 

 

Performance has always been a large part of her life. She began her music study with piano at age five. Shortly after it was on to dance lessons and children’s chorus. Her first operatic production was Benjamin Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream playing Cobweb at the Florentine Opera Company in Milwaukee, WI at age 15. She is now forever a lover of the opera. 

 

Miss Halon has performed both in the United States as well as abroad in Italy. She’s performed the title role in Rita, Mercedes in Carmen, Cherubino in The Marriage of Figaro, Zita in Gianni Schicchi, Sister Mathilde in The Dialogues of the Carmelites, and Madame Kirsten in the premier performance of The Beautiful Bridegroom. She is a local Resident Artist at the Atlanta Opera where she is involved with their community outreach program Operability that spreads the love and knowledge of opera to local schools and after school programs. She has also performed with the local Atlanta Opera company Capitol City Opera. She has performed the role of Rosina in their Dinner and a Diva series this past March, 2018. She was a featured soloist this past summer in their "Light Side" show featuring the works of Bernstein. And she is scheduled to sing the role of Joanna for October's Dinner and a Diva concert highlighting favorites from Sweeney Todd. Miss Halon also lends her vocal talents as a soloist to Highpoint Episcopal Church. Miss Halon is schedule to perform the role of Nella with Capitol City Opera in the double bill of Gianni Schicchi and Buoso's Ghost this March, 2019.

 

Miss Halon has recently competed in the final round of both Saltworks Opera Competition as well as the KF Marcella Sembrich International Vocal Competition. She was chosen as a finalist in the John Alexander Competition. The American Council of Polish Culture also chose her as as a finalist for the Marcella KochaÅ„ska Sembrich Vocal Competition. She was one of 6 singers chosen to perform in the Pro-Mozart Society Competition Finals concert. Miss Halon also was picked to sing in the American Qualification Round for the Paris Opera Competition Mozart Awards in 2017. Other awards include the Judges Choice award during the Atlanta Opera’s 24 Hour Opera project in 2015 and was the Audience choice winner during the Atlanta Opera’s 24 Hour Opera Project in 2014.  Miss Halon's talents extend beyond the operatic stage. She is a founding member of Atlanta’s local improv opera group ImprOper where she and her crazy troupe perform hilarious operatic comedy sketches on the fly at Dad’s Garage Theater.
